UHF On-Metal PCB RFID Tag IDTS-5020 (50 × 20 mm, Monza 4E)

An on-metal PCB RFID tag with room for more data

The IDTS-5020 suits jobs where a short ID number is not enough. Its Impinj Monza 4E chip offers a 496-bit EPC, 128 bits of user memory and a 96-bit TID. The long EPC leaves space for lengthy serial or coding schemes, and the user memory can hold a short field, such as a location or maintenance code, next to the ID.

Size and mounting

The body is a rigid 50 × 20 mm PCB bar, 4 mm at its highest point, in dark navy or black. Two 3.2 mm holes, 42 mm apart, take M3 screws or bolts for a through-fixed installation, and rows of small plated holes run along both ends of the board. At 20 mm wide it suits cylinder collars and cradles, rack beams and cabinet faces that have a little more room than a narrow rail.

Reading on metal

Fixed directly to metal, the tag reads at about 3.5 m and is rated −20 °C to +150 °C. It follows ISO 18000-6C, so standard UHF handhelds and fixed readers in India’s 865–868 MHz band will read and write it.
