RFID Jewellery Management Hardware for Showrooms and Vaults
Counting a showroom's gold and diamond stock piece by piece at opening and closing takes time and invites mistakes. With RFID, each piece carries a small UHF tag on its price ticket or a reusable hard tag, and a whole display tray can be checked by setting it on a reader tray instead of handling every item.
This page brings together the store's jewellery tags and readers: hard tags, slim inlays and tamper-evident labels, smart trays for counter audits, a desktop reader for encoding tags at the counter, a handheld for spot checks and a walk-through gate for the vault door. All of them work with passive UHF tags.
How it works
- 1
Tag each piece
Attach a UHF hard tag to rings, chains and bangles, or fit a slim inlay into the price ticket, and encode it at the counter with a desktop reader.
- 2
Link the tag to the item
Register each tag against the piece's record, with SKU, metal, weight and hallmark details, so any later read brings up that item.
- 3
Check trays on the counter
Set a display tray on the smart tray reader at opening and closing. It reads the tags sitting on it, and the software compares them with what the tray should hold.
- 4
Watch the vault door
A walk-through gate between showroom and strong room records tagged pieces moving in and out, while a handheld helps track down a single piece on the floor.

Smart trays
The RFID smart tray links to phones and tablets over Bluetooth, runs on a rechargeable battery and is designed to read only the tags kept on it. The CX111T tray suits a fixed counter setup, with PoE, RS232 and USB connections and an adjustable-power antenna built in for near-field, short-range reading.

- Identium RFID Smart Tray – CX111T₹45,000 + GST
Counter encoder
The UHF desktop reader 103 sits at the counter to write and check piece tags, with a read distance adjustable up to 30 cm, so the range can be kept short while encoding.
- UHF Desktop Reader - 103₹15,000 + GST
Handheld
The CX1500N handheld for spot checks, full-store counts and finding one particular piece.
- Uhf Handheld Rfid Reader CX1500N₹58,000 + GST

The software
The jewellery software on IdentiumOne links each tag to the piece's SKU, weight, karat and HUID, takes in counts from tray readers, handhelds and doorway gates, and logs every move between showroom and vault against the user and time on one dashboard. IdentiumOne also covers matching tags against point-of-sale billing so sold pieces come off stock, alerts when a piece leaves without a sale, and audit reports with hallmark, karatage, weight and location. For the module list, the showroom workflow and a demo, visit the RFID jewellery management page on IdentiumOne.
RFID jewellery management software and showroom demo on IdentiumOneWhy teams use it
- Opening and closing counts become a tray-by-tray check instead of counting by hand
- Each piece's movement between counter and vault leaves a record
- Reusable hard tags move from sold pieces on to new stock
- Tamper-evident labels make it plain when someone has tried to remove a tag
- Staff can locate a specific piece with a handheld instead of opening every box

Frequently asked questions
Do RFID tags work on gold and silver jewellery?
Metal affects UHF tags, so jewellery tags are attached on a ticket, tail or loop rather than pressed flat against the piece. Use the hard tag for pieces that are handled often, and a slim inlay or label for price tickets and packaging.
What is a smart tray used for?
A smart tray is a display tray with a UHF reader built in. Placing a tray of jewellery on it reads the tags on that tray, so staff can check a counter's stock without lifting each piece.
Which reader do I need to encode jewellery tags?
A desktop UHF reader such as the 103 at the billing or stock counter is enough to write and verify tags one at a time. For counts across the showroom, add a handheld such as the CX1500N.
Can RFID stop jewellery leaving the showroom unnoticed?
A walk-through gate such as the HLR200 at the vault or staff exit reads tagged pieces passing through and can raise an alarm. It works alongside your CCTV and security process rather than replacing them.
