Types of RFID jewellery tags
Hard tags
Rigid tags that hang from the piece. The JT3515 (35 × 15 mm, NXP UCODE 9xe, IP68) is reusable and has a 2 mm eyelet for string, a zip tie or a tamper-evident loop. The RFID hard jewellery tag (about 25 × 10 mm, ABS or PET) fixes with a loop or adhesive, in UHF or HF.
Reusable snap-on tags
The reusable RFID jewellery tag clips onto hangers and ring holders or threads through display holes, leaves no adhesive on the metal, and is re-encoded when it moves to new stock.
Labels and inlays
Thin UHF labels for the price ticket. The J62 jewellery label suits jewellery and small objects; the ID-9640 jewellery inlay (98 × 12 mm) comes on rolls of 5,000 for converting and printing lines.
Counter tray
The RFID Smart Tray reads tagged pieces laid on its velvet surface and sends the list over Bluetooth to a phone or tablet, running up to 6 hours on its built-in battery.

How to choose a jewellery tag

RFID machines for jewellery: smart trays, handhelds and the AI inventory box
At the counter, a smart tray counts every tagged piece laid on it: the battery-powered Bluetooth RFID smart tray sends the list to a phone or tablet and costs ₹45,000 + GST. A UHF handheld reader covers opening, closing and safe counts. The RFID AI Inventory Box (₹2,75,000 + GST) reads every tagged item placed inside it and has a QR scanner and receipt printer built in. To write item codes into tags, add a desktop reader at the stock-entry desk, or an RFID printer to print and encode tickets in one pass. Your jewellery software then links each tag number to the item record.

Yes, with the right tag and placement. Metal close to a UHF antenna cuts read range, so jewellery tags usually sit on the price ticket, a loop or a hang-tag rather than flat against the piece. Dumbbell labels such as the ID-1142-M830 loop around the ring shank or chain. Test samples on your own pieces before a bulk order.
Should I choose reusable hard tags or disposable labels?
Reusable tags such as the JT3515 or the snap-on reusable tag suit stores that remove the tag at the sale and re-encode it for new stock. Labels suit pieces that leave with their price ticket and are easier to print in volume.
What does a jewellery RFID tag cost per piece?
