RFID solutions using NFC Tags, Stickers & Labels
Buying guide
Quick answer: an NFC tag is a 13.56 MHz HF tag that opens a link, contact card or text when an NFC phone taps it, Android or iPhone. NTAG213 stickers, inlays and labels cost ₹12–₹20 + GST per piece, the small 30 × 15 mm ISO 14443A HF tag ₹12 + GST and an NFC card ₹20 + GST, with a minimum order of 500 pcs. NTAG213 (144 bytes) holds a web link; NTAG215 (504 bytes) and NTAG216 (888 bytes) hold longer records such as a contact card.
Looking for moulded tags or cards? See NFC epoxy and phone tags, RFID key fobs and tokens and NFC business cards. For prices by chip and format, read the NFC tag price guide.
NFC tags are 13.56 MHz HF tags that a smartphone reads with a tap. Program one with a URL, contact card, text or Wi-Fi details in the standard NDEF format, and anyone with an NFC phone can open it without a special app. The same chips are read by HF readers, so NFC tags also work as low-cost IDs for products, assets and checkpoints.
The thin, flexible NFC tag ID-K213 (NTAG213), the 30 mm NFC epoxy tag IDNE30 with NTAG213, 215 or 216, the mobile NFC epoxy tag EC025 on a string, the NFC pet ID tag and the CR80 NFC business card.
Printed NFC inlay labels come round, square or card-sized with full-colour print, gloss, matte or holographic finish and optional void face. Printed NFC labels on rolls come in 35, 40 and 50 mm squares on paper or PP/PET.
The adhesive-backed NTAG213 wet inlay and the NFC inlay range (NTAG213/215/216, MIFARE Classic 1K, DESFire EV2, ICODE SLIX) are for label printers and OEMs who build NFC into their own products.
The fragile tamper label ID-4320 is made to break if someone peels it off. The wine authentication label uses an NTAG213 TT chip on a 119.6 × 21 mm strip. The NFC LED cable label marks individual wires.
Catalogue prices per piece, before 18% GST, for the main formats in this range. Each product page lists its chip, size and print options.

| Chip | Memory (as listed) | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| NTAG213 | 144 bytes | Short URLs and tap-to-open links on stickers and epoxy tags |
| NTAG215 | 504 bytes | Longer records and larger data payloads |
| NTAG216 | 888 bytes | vCards and larger NDEF records on business cards and labels |
| NTAG213 TT | 180 bytes | Wine bottle authentication labels |
| FM13HS01 (ISO/IEC 15693, Type 5) | 896 or 1024 bits | Tamper and cable labels read with HF readers |

What NXP specifies for the NTAG chips used on most tags in this range, and for MIFARE Classic EV1:
| Chip | User memory | Write cycles | Data retention | Unique ID | Operating distance |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| NTAG213 | 144 bytes | 100,000 | 10 years at 22 °C | 7-byte UID | Up to 100 mm |
| NTAG215 | 504 bytes | 100,000 | 10 years at 22 °C | 7-byte UID | Up to 100 mm |
| NTAG216 | 888 bytes | 100,000 | 10 years at 22 °C | 7-byte UID | Up to 100 mm |
| MIFARE Classic EV1 1K / 4K | 1 KB or 4 KB | 100,000–200,000 | 10 years | Unique serial number | Up to 100 mm |
The operating distance is the chip's best case and depends on the reader's field and the tag antenna; a phone reads at a few centimetres. All three NTAG chips also have a 32-bit password, and lock bits that, once set, make the memory permanently read-only. NXP lists MIFARE Classic EV1 as not recommended for new designs and recommends MIFARE DESFire Light for new projects. ICODE SLIX, offered on the NFC cards and NFC inlays, is an ISO/IEC 15693 chip, so check that your app or reader supports that standard. For chip prices, how to tell a genuine NTAG213 and how to program and lock a tag, read the NFC tag price guide.

A phone with a free NFC writer app is enough to encode a few tags. For desk or field reading at volume, see HF RFID and NFC readers, including the FX100 Android NFC handheld. For very small items, compare the 10 mm NFC coin tag and the 12 × 8.5 mm NFC sticker.
