Buying guide
Choosing HF RFID cards: start with your reader
HF cards work at 13.56 MHz and look identical from the outside, but the chip inside decides which readers, locks and phones can use them. Before ordering, check what your attendance terminal, door controller or software reads, often MIFARE Classic, and order that chip. A card with the wrong chip will not respond. NFC cards by chip

Printing and encoding
Cards can be printed with a logo, employee name, photo, QR code, barcode and sequential numbering, with a gloss or matt finish. Tell us the number format your software expects and the cards can be encoded to match, so they work on the first tap. To issue or re-encode cards in-house, add a desk reader-writer to the order.

HF cards are made to be carried and tapped. Fixed onto metal, the antenna detunes and reads fail; to tag machines or racks, use on-metal RFID tags instead.
Frequently asked questions
Will these cards work with my existing attendance or door reader?
Only if the chip matches what the reader is built for. Most 13.56 MHz attendance and access terminals read MIFARE Classic; some need DESFire, and NFC phones are most reliable with NTAG. Send us the reader make and model or a sample card, and order the same chip.
What is the difference between an HF card and an NFC card?
NFC is part of the 13.56 MHz HF family. NFC cards use ISO 14443A chips such as NTAG and MIFARE that phones and NFC terminals can read, while HF also covers ISO 15693 cards like ICODE SLIX used in libraries. Standard cards are read at up to about 10 cm; ICODE SLIX cards can reach up to about 1.5 m on long-range ISO 15693 readers.
What size and thickness are the cards?
NFC Cards and the Printed RFID ID Card are standard CR80 size (85.6 × 54 mm), the same as a bank card, so they fit normal card holders, lanyards and card printers. NFC cards come 0.8 or 1.0 mm thick and the Printed RFID ID Card is 760 microns. The plain HF card is a standard rectangular PVC card, and the NFC coin tag is a 10 mm round sticker.
Can the cards be printed with photos and employee details?
Yes. Cards can be personalised with your logo, employee name, photo, QR code, barcode and sequential numbers, in a gloss or matt finish, and encoded to match your attendance or access software.
Which reader do I need to encode HF cards myself?
Use a 13.56 MHz USB reader-writer such as the IDTS-RWS9, which comes with demo software and an SDK for reading and writing cards from a PC. For reading only, at a reception or registration desk, the HRD20 desktop reader or the IDTS-HRP60 portable USB reader is enough.
