Active RFID Hardware for Real-Time Location Tracking
A passive tag only answers when a reader is close by. An active RFID tag carries its own battery and keeps transmitting, so fixed readers can follow vehicles, equipment and staff across a yard, plant or campus without anyone pointing a scanner at them.
Below are the long-range and doorway readers, asset tags and staff cards we stock for an active tracking site, plus a Bluetooth option for indoor rooms. Each item has a note on where it goes, and the IdentiumOne platform that puts every tag on a map and raises zone alerts is linked further down.
How it works
- 1
Tag what moves
Fix an asset tag to equipment, a rugged tag to vehicles or outdoor gear, and give an active card to each person you need to locate.
- 2
Place readers by zone
Mount long-range readers over open areas and short-range indoor readers at doorways, so each reader stands for a zone on your site plan.
- 3
Send reads to the platform
Readers pass every tag they hear over the network to the tracking software, which keeps the last-seen zone and a movement trail for each tag.
- 4
Act on zone events
Set rules for restricted areas or items crossing a boundary, and the software raises an alert and can hand the event to your other business systems.
Hardware you need
Long-range outdoor reader
The F529 base station covers open yards and large halls, with a directional range of up to 400 m in its specification. Its four antennas also report which of four directions a tag lies in, useful when one reader watches several approaches.
- Active RFID Reader F529₹57,775 + GST
Indoor doorway reader
The F530 is meant for entrances, doorways and vehicles such as school buses. Its default read distance of about 5 m marks a passage rather than a whole room. It reports over GPRS and is configured from a Bluetooth phone app.
- 2.4 GHz Indoor Active RFID Reader F530₹51,775 + GST
Asset and vehicle tags
The AT508 mounts on equipment, reads at up to 80 m (adjustable in software) and uses a light sensor to signal when it is pulled off the item. The AT507 has a rugged housing for vehicles, trolleys and gear kept outdoors.
- 2.4 GHz Active RFID Asset Tag AT508₹1,177 + GST
- Rugged Active RFID Tag AT507₹877 + GST
Staff and visitor cards
The T505 is a battery-powered active tag in card format, carried by staff or visitors as a badge. Depending on reader and antenna it can be picked up at up to 150 m, and a reader can handle many cards in its field at once.
- Active RFID Card T505₹977 + GST
Bluetooth option for indoor rooms
Where room-level coverage indoors suits Bluetooth better, BLE beacons such as the IP68 pallet beacon report through the ID-BGW-02 gateway over Ethernet, Wi-Fi or 4G. Order BLE beacons and a BLE gateway together as a matched pair.
- BLE Gateway ID-BGW-02 (Ethernet + Wi-Fi or 4G, PoE)₹28,000 + GST
- Pallet BLE Beacon ID-BLE-T08 (BLE 5.4, IP68, IK08)₹1,250 + GST
The software
The readers only report which tags they can hear. The IdentiumOne Active Reader platform is where those sightings become useful: it plots tags on a live site plan, groups readers into zones, keeps a movement history for every tag and raises an alert when something enters a restricted area or leaves its permitted boundary. Location events can also be passed to an ERP, WMS or in-house system. Visit IdentiumOne for the full feature list, set-up options and a demo.
active RFID RTLS software and live demo on IdentiumOneWhy teams use it
- Know where vehicles, equipment and people are without manual scanning

Can I buy the active RFID readers and tags here and get the tracking software separately?
Yes. The readers, tags and cards on this page are sold through the store. The location platform that shows them on a map is offered through IdentiumOne, where you can ask for a demo and a proposal for your site.
Which active tag should I order for vehicles and which for people?
Use the AT507 rugged tag on vehicles and gear that stays outdoors, the AT508 for smaller assets where a removal alarm helps, and the T505 card for staff or visitors who wear a badge.
Can a UHF handheld read these active tags?
No. These active tags transmit on 2.4 GHz and are read by the active readers listed here. UHF readers and handhelds read passive UHF tags only, so plan both families if you also use passive tags.
How many readers will my site need?
That depends on the layout, walls, metal structures and how precisely you need to place each tag. Share a site plan with the team before ordering so the reader count is based on your floor rather than a guess.
