Overview
A rugged pallet BLE beacon for warehouse and cold-chain tracking
The ID-BLE-T08 is a Bluetooth 5.4 locator tag shaped as a slim bar, 116 × 25.1 × 9.1 mm and about 25 g, with a mounting ear at each end. Its black ABS housing is IP68 (waterproof and dustproof) and IK08 shock-rated, built for the knocks and moisture of everyday pallet and crate handling.
Two replaceable CR2032 coin cells (440 mAh) give up to 40 months of battery life, depending on advertising interval, transmit power and temperature. It operates from -40 °C to +85 °C, which covers refrigerated and frozen cold-chain work, and accidental-shutdown protection stops it being switched off by mistake.
Reading pallet locations
The T08 broadcasts in iBeacon or Eddystone format, up to 100 m in open space. ID-BGW-02 BLE gateways placed around the warehouse or yard scan these broadcasts and report them to your server over Ethernet, Wi-Fi or 4G, where signal strength (RSSI) shows which zone each pallet is in. Phone apps can also detect the tag for spot checks. AOA positioning is not supported.
Set-up and mounting
UUID, Major, Minor, device name, advertising interval and transmit power are set from the Identium Connect Android app, and an SDK is available for your own software. Fix the tag with screws through the ears (102.55 mm hole pitch) and/or the 3M adhesive base; the tape bonds best to clean, dry surfaces between 21 °C and 38 °C.
If pallets only need to be counted as they pass a dock door, a passive UHF RFID pallet tag and a gate reader may be enough. The T08 suits sites that want to see each pallet's zone at any time, not only at read points.

Frequently asked questions
How long do the batteries last?
Up to 40 months on two CR2032 cells (440 mAh). Life depends on the advertising interval, transmit power and ambient temperature, and both cells are replaceable.
Can it be used in cold storage and freezers?
Yes. It is rated to operate from -40 °C to +85 °C and is IP68, so it suits refrigerated and frozen logistics. In the cold, warm the surface before applying the 3M tape and rely on the screw ears.
What do I need to track pallets with it?
ID-BGW-02 BLE gateways to receive the broadcasts and forward them over Ethernet, Wi-Fi or 4G to your server or tracking platform. The tags are configured with the Identium Connect Android app.
Does the T08 support AOA sub-metre positioning?
No, it is used for RSSI zone tracking. For sub-metre positioning, choose an AOA-capable beacon such as the ID-BLE-B22 or ID-BLE-L01 together with ID-AOA-GW25 anchors.
How is it different from a UHF RFID pallet tag?
A passive UHF tag has no battery and is read only when it passes a reader, typically at a dock door. The T08 broadcasts at its set interval, so gateways can see which zone a pallet is in at any time, in exchange for a battery to replace.
