Anti-Tamper BLE Asset Tag ID-BLE-A07 (AOA, CR2032)

An anti-tamper BLE asset tag ready for AOA positioning

The ID-BLE-A07 is the compact one of the two AOA-capable anti-tamper tags: 44 × 25 × 5.7 mm and 8.5 g, on a replaceable CR2032 cell. It is sized for portable assets that move around and sometimes walk off, such as laptops, test instruments, portable medical devices and shared tools.

Tamper alarm and motion versions

Three versions are listed: A07, A07-K and A07-KA. Order the A07-K for a mechanical tamper alarm; the A07-KA pairs the tamper alarm with an accelerometer.

How it is read

Day to day, the A07 is an iBeacon and Eddystone tag that ID-BGW-02 gateways and BLE phone apps detect for zone-level tracking. Because it is AOA-capable, the same tag on the same laptop or instrument can be fixed to 0.1–1 m in any area covered by ID-AOA-GW25 anchors.

Battery and radio

The 225 mAh cell is rated for 3 years at 0 dBm and a 10 s interval. In the Identium Connect app you can set transmit power anywhere from −40 to +4 dBm and the broadcast interval from 100 ms to 10 s; the default interval is 3 s. Open-space range is up to 70 m on the licence-exempt 2.4 GHz band, and the tag operates between −20 °C and +70 °C.

A07, T01 or A20?

The ID-BLE-T01 has the same 44 × 25 mm footprint and CR2032 cell, but it is not AOA-capable. The ID-BLE-A20 is the larger AOA anti-tamper tag, with a 600 mAh CR2450 rated 5 years at 0 dBm / 10 s. Choose the A07 when the tag has to stay small.
