A large anti-tamper BLE tag with AOA support

The ID-BLE-A20 is the larger of the two AOA-capable anti-tamper tags (A07 and A20). Its 59 × 34 × 11 mm housing (20 g) holds a replaceable 600 mAh CR2450, against the 225 mAh CR2032 in the compact ID-BLE-A07, and its battery rating is 5 years instead of 3, both at 0 dBm / 10 s. Fit it once to hospital devices, factory machines, server racks or warehouse assets and leave it there, wherever a slightly bigger tag has room.

Zone tracking now, sub-metre later

As an RSSI beacon, the A20 is picked up by ID-BGW-02 gateways, which pass its iBeacon and Eddystone broadcasts on over Wi-Fi, Ethernet or 4G for zone-level location (roughly 10 m), and by BLE phone apps. Because it supports Angle-of-Arrival, the same tag can be positioned to 0.1–1 m by ceiling- or side-mounted ID-AOA-GW25 anchors. A site can run on gateways first and bring individual zones up to AOA later while the tags stay on the assets.

Installation and radio

The tag fixes with 3M adhesive and works from −20 °C to +70 °C. It transmits on the licence-exempt 2.4 GHz band, with power adjustable from −40 to +4 dBm in the Identium Connect app and a default interval of 10 s; range is up to 70 m in open air.
