An industrial BLE beacon for AOA positioning and sensing

The ID-BLE-L01 is a round Bluetooth Low Energy beacon, Ø 54 × 25 mm, with an IP68 housing and an operating range of -40 °C to +85 °C. Its 2400 mAh ER14250 lithium-thionyl chloride cell is rated for 5 years at 0 dBm / 500 ms. Pick it when one tag must report both a precise location and condition data.

Zones first, sub-metre where it matters

The L01 supports the iBeacon and Eddystone formats on the licence-exempt 2.4 GHz band, with 100 m range in open space. A network of ID-BGW-02 BLE gateways places every tagged asset in a zone by signal strength (RSSI) and forwards the sightings over Ethernet, Wi-Fi or 4G. Where a zone is too coarse, ID-AOA-GW25 AOA anchors take the angle of arrival of the L01's broadcasts and resolve its position to under a metre, with the tags left in place.

Sensor and mounting options

• L01: standard housing.
• L01-E: eared housing.
• L01-A: built-in accelerometer, so motion data travels with the position data.
• L01-T: temperature + humidity sensor; its readings reach your server through the same gateways, so one network carries location and conditions.

Mounting is by 3M adhesive, or by screws via the ears on the L01-E.

Choosing between the L01 and L02

The ID-BLE-L02 has the same Ø 54 × 25 mm size and ER14250 cell but is an RSSI-only beacon with no sensor version. Choose the L01 when you need AOA positioning, the temperature + humidity option or the wider transmit-power range (down to -40 dBm).
