Overview
A wireless RFID smart tray for jewellery counters
This RFID smart tray is made for jewellery showrooms and shops. Tagged rings, chains and other pieces are laid on its soft velvet surface, the tray reads their tags, and the list goes over Bluetooth to a phone or tablet. There is no cable to the counter: a built-in rechargeable battery gives up to 6 hours of working time and charges through a Type-C port.
How a tray count works
- Tag the stock. Each piece carries an RFID jewellery tag or label.
- Pair the tray. Connect it over Bluetooth to an Android or iOS phone or tablet.
- Lay out the pieces. Place the jewellery on the velvet; the tags on the tray are read together.
- Reconcile. Check the tags read against what that tray should hold in your stock software.
Reads the tray, not the counter
Showroom counters usually have several trays side by side. This tray reads only the tags placed on it, so pieces on the next tray or inside the display case are not counted by mistake. The RF output power is adjustable if the read zone needs tightening further.
Made for daily handling
The body has an aluminium finish, the velvet top guards polished metal and stones against scratches, and the LED and power buttons are waterproof to stand up to constant use at the counter.
Which smart tray to choose
Pick this tray when staff need to carry it between counters and work from a phone or tablet. For a fixed counter wired to a PC or the network, the CX110T and CX111T trays offer PoE, USB and RS232 connections instead. Our guide to RFID for jewellery shops covers tagging and stock audits in more detail.
