Overview
IDTS-D33 on-metal RFID tag: a round disc trimmed to 27 mm
The IDTS-D33 is a 33 mm round PCB disc with its top and bottom edges cut flat, leaving a height of 27 mm. The trimmed shape helps on surfaces that are wide but short, such as a rack upright, a cylinder neck ring or the side of a tool body, where a full circle would overhang. Two 3.2 mm holes, 24 mm apart, take M3 screws or rivets, giving a fixing that does not depend on adhesive.
Range and memory
Mounted on metal, the D33 reads at approx. 4 m, about twice the listed range of the 38 mm IDTS-D38 and 40 mm IDTS-D40 discs, so it suits walk-past audits with a handheld reader. Its U8 chip follows ISO 18000-6C, with a 128-bit EPC for your asset code and a 96-bit TID. The tag is 4 mm thick at its highest point and is rated −20 °C to +150 °C.
Where it works well
- Tool cribs and calibration rooms logging gauges, jigs and fixtures by scan
- IT audits of servers, switches and UPS units without unracking them
- Moulds, dies and process trolleys in warm areas of the plant, within the +150 °C rating
Other sizes are listed under PCB and ceramic RFID tags, and our guide to choosing on-metal RFID tags explains how tag size relates to read range.
Typical applications
- Hand tools and gauges
- Calibration equipment
- Cylinder neck rings
- Server and UPS enclosures
- Moulds and dies
- Stainless process trolleys
