Overview

A wide-face UHF on-metal RFID tag for heavy equipment

The IDTS-9525 gives you a little more body than the 90 mm bars: 95 mm long, 25 mm wide and 4 mm at the highest point. It is an anti-metal PCB tag made to sit directly on steel and is listed at approximately 8 m on metal. That suits assets read from a distance, such as racking uprights, cylinder collars and large machine frames.

Plan the brackets before the tags arrive

Each end has a 3.5 mm hole, and the hole centres are 89 mm apart. This pitch is different from the 84 mm used on the IDTS-9010 and IDTS-9020 bars, so check any existing drilling or bracket design before switching between models. Use screws or rivets sized for a 3.5 mm hole.

ID on the tag, data in your software

The U8 chip has a 128-bit EPC bank for your asset or location number and a 96-bit TID set at the factory. There is no user memory, so inspection dates, owners and history live in your WMS or asset register, keyed to the EPC. That is how most RFID fixed-asset audits are run anyway. Compare other sizes across the PCB and ceramic tag range.

Typical applications

  • Warehouse racking
  • Gas and LPG cylinders
  • Server and UPS cabinets
  • Dies and moulds
  • Distribution boards
  • Trolleys and stillages

Frequently asked questions

What read range does the IDTS-9525 give?
It is listed at approximately 8 m when mounted on metal. Reader power, antenna choice, orientation and the amount of surrounding steel all change the result, so test a sample on your own asset before a site-wide order.
Can I store inspection data on the tag?
No. The tag has 128-bit EPC and 96-bit TID memory but no user memory. Encode an asset ID in the EPC and keep inspection records in your software against that ID.
What are the hole size and spacing?
Two 3.5 mm holes, one at each end, 89 mm centre to centre. This differs from the 84 mm pitch on the IDTS-9010 and IDTS-9020, so the drilling patterns are not interchangeable.
Will it survive hot plant areas?
Its rated operating range is −20 °C to +150 °C. Check the actual surface temperature where the tag will sit; process lines that run hotter than 150 °C need a higher-rated tag.
Which reader works with the IDTS-9525?
Any ISO 18000-6C (EPC Gen2) UHF reader operating in India’s 865–868 MHz band, including handheld, fixed and desktop readers.
