Overview
A two-hole on-metal UHF RFID tag with a known drilling pattern
The IDTS-1907 is a 19 × 7 mm PCB bar with rounded ends, 4 mm at its highest point, with an epoxy dome over the chip. Its two main holes are 2.3 mm in diameter and 15 mm apart, centre to centre. With those two figures a toolroom can mark out and drill a matching pattern on a jig, die or fixture before the tags arrive, so fitting is a two-screw job.
Read range for fixed and handheld reading
The quoted read distance is approx. 2.5 m on metal, the same as the smaller 13 × 7 mm IDTS-1307. Choose the IDTS-1907 when you want the documented hole pitch and a longer body; choose the IDTS-1307 when the mounting face is shorter than 19 mm. At 2.5 m, a fixed antenna at a machine changeover point, or a handheld pass along a fixture rack, can confirm which tool is in place.
Extra fixing points
Four small copper-ringed holes at the corners give extra options, such as locking wire or small pins on a tool that sees vibration. The U8 chip carries a 128-bit EPC for your tool number and a 96-bit factory TID. Read and encode it with any ISO 18000-6C UHF handheld, and see how to choose on-metal tags if your assets need a larger tag.
Typical applications
- Jigs and fixtures
- Moulds and dies
- Torque wrenches and air tools
- Valve bodies and fittings
- Switchgear components
- Assembly carriers
