Overview
A BLE + RFID work card for staff location
The ID-BLE-C08 is a staff badge that carries two technologies: a Bluetooth Low Energy beacon for live location, and RFID tag support, so one card on a lanyard can serve both tracking and card-based tasks. It measures 89 × 58 × 7 mm and weighs 42 g. The RFID frequency and chip are confirmed for your readers at order time.
How the ID-BLE-C08 is located
- Gateway zones: ID-BGW-02 gateways across the site receive the card's broadcasts and report them over Ethernet, Wi-Fi or 4G; RSSI zoning resolves the wearer to roughly 10 m.
- Sub-metre fixes: because the card supports AOA, ID-AOA-GW25 AOA anchors can fix its position to 0.1–1 m where they are installed.
The card sends iBeacon and Eddystone frames on the licence-exempt 2.4 GHz band (2400–2483.5 MHz), up to 100 m in open space, and BLE apps on phones can read them as well. Its settings are managed in the Identium Connect app.
Broadcast or scan + broadcast
In broadcast mode the card only advertises, and the rechargeable 1500 mAh Li-Po (3.7 V) is rated for 0.5 years at 0 dBm / 500 ms. In scan + broadcast mode the rating drops to 30 days. An accelerometer is supported. It is life-waterproof, for use from −20 °C to +70 °C.
ID-BLE-C08 or ID-BLE-S25?
Choose the C08 when the badge must also carry RFID. If BLE location alone is enough, the ID-BLE-S25 is a thinner, lighter card: 4.3 mm and 20 g, rated IP67, and also AOA-capable. Other badges, bracelets and fobs are listed under BLE wearables and work cards.

Do I need AOA anchors to use the ID-BLE-C08?
No. With ID-BGW-02 gateways alone it is tracked by RSSI to about 10 m. Add ID-AOA-GW25 anchors where you need sub-metre positions; one anchor covers a radius of up to about twice its mounting height, so up to roughly 6 m from a 3 m ceiling.
