UWB Forklift & Vehicle Tracking Terminal ID-UWB-V10 (UWB + GNSS + 4G)

A vehicle-mounted terminal that tracks forklifts and yard vehicles indoors and out: UWB ranging to fixed anchors inside the building (under 30 cm unobstructed), satellite positioning in the open, and a 4G link that sends every position to the platform. It runs from the truck’s 12–24 V supply and fixes with a strong magnet.

Key features

  • UWB positioning indoors with Identium anchors: under 30 cm in unobstructed space
  • Multi-constellation GNSS outdoors: 1–2 m single-point; RTK variant to ±3 cm on request
  • 4G uplink to the platform, so the anchors need no network cabling
  • Powered from the vehicle at DC 12–24 V, or Type-C; optional 3000 mAh backup battery
  • Strong magnetic base, bolt or bracket mounting; no drilling needed
  • IP67 housing, −40 °C to +85 °C, motion and standstill detection

Overview

What the ID-UWB-V10 does

The ID-UWB-V10 is the tag that goes on the vehicle. Inside a warehouse or plant it ranges by ultra-wideband (UWB) to fixed Identium anchors and is placed to under 30 cm in unobstructed space; out in the yard it switches to satellite positioning at 1–2 m. Either way it sends its position over 4G, so one terminal follows a forklift from the racking to the loading bay and across the yard without a gap.

Built for a truck

Power comes from the vehicle's own 12–24 V supply, so there is no tag battery to charge; a Type-C input suits commissioning, and an optional 3000 mAh battery keeps it reporting when the truck is switched off. The magnetic base sits on the roof or overhead guard; for rough floors or fast vehicles add bolts, a bracket or an anti-loss strap. Mount it where it has a clear view upward and away from large metal parts, never inside the cab or engine bay.

Wired or wiring-free

Identium's UWB range works in two layouts. In a wired layout, ID-UWB-P30 or ID-UWB-R40 anchors are connected by Ethernet (PoE) or their own 4G link and pass every range measurement to the positioning server, so the tags only need UWB. In a wiring-free layout, ID-UWB-B50 battery anchors are fixed in place with no cable at all, and a 4G terminal such as the ID-UWB-V10 measures its distance to them and uploads the result itself.

For forklifts the usual pairing is the V10 with ID-UWB-B50 battery anchors: nothing to cable on the ceiling, and the 4G link carries the data. See the UWB forklift tracking system for the full layout.

Accuracy options

The standard V10 uses UWB indoors and standard GNSS outdoors, which is enough to know which aisle, bay or dock a truck is at. Where outdoor positions must be to a few centimetres, an RTK variant reaches ±3 cm with a correction source; tell us when you ask for a quote.

Every site is planned from a floor plan: anchor count depends on aisle width, racking height and how precise each zone must be.

Where the ID-UWB-V10 is used

  • Forklifts and reach trucks
  • Clamp trucks in paper and tyre plants
  • Tow tractors and AGVs
  • Yard and port vehicles
  • Mining and construction machinery
  • Plant buses and service vehicles

Frequently asked questions

Can the ID-UWB-V10 run from the forklift battery?
Yes. It takes DC 12–24 V from the vehicle; fit a fuse in the supply line and route the cable away from hot and moving parts. A Type-C 5 V input and an optional 3000 mAh internal battery are also available.
Does it work both inside and outside the warehouse?
Yes. Indoors it ranges by UWB to Identium anchors (under 30 cm unobstructed); outdoors it uses satellite positioning (1–2 m single point, or ±3 cm with the RTK variant and a correction source).
Which anchors does it need indoors?
ID-UWB-B50 battery anchors for a cable-free installation, or wired ID-UWB-P30 and ID-UWB-R40 anchors. Because the terminal uploads over 4G, battery anchors need no network.
Does it need a SIM card?
Yes, a 4G data SIM for the uplink. Tell us the network you use and the data plan can be sized with the update rate you need.
