What the ID-UWB-W20 does

The ID-UWB-W20 is a UWB tag worn on the wrist. It places the wearer to under 30 cm in unobstructed space through Identium's wired anchors, and keeps the alarm on the body: an SOS button for help, vibration to warn the wearer, and motion detection for a worker who has stopped moving. The update rate can be set from 1 to 20 Hz, trading battery life for smoother tracks.

Wrist or helmet

Where gloves and sleeves get in the way, the tag lifts out of the strap and clips onto a safety helmet, so the same device covers both. It is IP67 and 40 g, and lasts over a month per charge at 1 Hz on its 600 mAh battery.

Options

A heart-rate sensor and a 0.83-inch OLED display suit lone-worker and medical-check duties; NFC adds tap-to-identify at gates and machines.

Where it helps

On a construction site or in a tunnel, supervisors see which workers are inside which section and can call for a muster with the alarm on the wrist. In a plant, a geofence on a hazardous bay alerts the control room, and vibrates the band, when someone without clearance walks in. Every alarm carries the wearer's position on the map, so help goes to the right spot.
