Overview
What the ID-UWB-P30 does
The ID-UWB-P30 is the standard anchor for a wired indoor UWB system. Tags range to the anchors around them, and each anchor passes those measurements over Ethernet to the positioning engine, which places every tag to under 30 cm in unobstructed space. One PoE cable carries both power and data; where a cable run is impractical, a 4G or Wi-Fi version sends the data instead.
Wired or wiring-free
Identium's UWB range works in two layouts. In a wired layout, ID-UWB-P30 or ID-UWB-R40 anchors are connected by Ethernet (PoE) or their own 4G link and pass every range measurement to the positioning server, so the tags only need UWB. In a wiring-free layout, ID-UWB-B50 battery anchors are fixed in place with no cable at all, and a 4G terminal such as the ID-UWB-V10 measures its distance to them and uploads the result itself.
Options
Two options turn the anchor into more than a reference point. A 2 MP camera with AI video analysis links images to location events, and a sound-and-light alarm can warn people on the spot when a geofence rule is broken, for example a pedestrian entering a forklift-only aisle.
Planning
- Two anchors locate tags along an aisle or corridor; open floors need at least three in view of each tag.
- Mount on the ceiling, a wall or a column with the supplied clamp, clear of large metal surfaces.
- For dusty or outdoor areas, the aluminium ID-UWB-R40 (IP67) is the better fit.

How is the ID-UWB-P30 powered?
By standard PoE or a DC 12–24 V supply. It draws under 5 W.
Can it work without an Ethernet cable?
Yes, with the optional 4G or Wi-Fi backhaul; power still comes from PoE or DC. For a site with no power at the mounting points, use ID-UWB-B50 battery anchors with 4G terminals instead.
Which tags does it locate?
The ID-UWB-C20 work card, ID-UWB-W20 wristband and ID-UWB-M18 magnetic tag, plus the ID-UWB-V10 vehicle terminal. Ask us before mixing in UWB tags from other systems: UWB products from different makers generally do not interoperate.
Is it suitable outdoors?
It is IP66 and rated −40 °C to +80 °C, but for outdoor, wet or dusty areas the aluminium ID-UWB-R40 (IP67) is recommended.
