UWB Anti-Collision Unit ID-UWB-X10 (Forklift, Relay Outputs, RS485)

A UWB ranging unit that warns of people and vehicles nearby: it measures distance to other units and tagged pedestrians to 10–30 cm, switches relay outputs for a beacon, horn or speed limit at an alarm distance you set between 0 and 100 m, and reports live distance over RS485 to a PLC.

Overview

What the ID-UWB-X10 does

The ID-UWB-X10 gives a vehicle a sense of who is close. Mounted on a forklift, crane or mining vehicle, it measures its distance by UWB to other X10 units and to tagged pedestrians, to 10–30 cm. When something comes inside the alarm distance, which you set anywhere from 0 to 100 m, it switches its relays: a rotating beacon and horn, a warning in the cab, or an input to the truck's own speed limiter. The ranging is built to resist dust, water vapour and electromagnetic interference.

Wiring it in

  • Power: DC 12–24 V from the vehicle, under 5 W.
  • Relays: 2 normally open and 2 normally closed outputs for alarms or interlocks.
  • Data: RS485 at 115200 baud (Modbus-RTU optional) reports live distance to a PLC or computer.
  • Set-up: it works on power-up and needs no calibration in use.

Where it fits

Use it on its own as a proximity warning between vehicles and people, or alongside location tracking: the ID-UWB-V10 terminal tells you where each truck is, and the X10 warns drivers and pedestrians before they meet at close range. Pedestrians carry a compatible UWB tag; confirm the tag model for your layout with us.

A collision-warning system supports, but does not replace, trained operators, marked walkways and the site's traffic rules.

Where the ID-UWB-X10 is used

  • Forklifts and reach trucks
  • Overhead and gantry cranes
  • Mining and quarry vehicles
  • Shovel loaders
  • Port and yard vehicles
  • Pedestrian zones

Frequently asked questions

How does the ID-UWB-X10 detect people?
Pedestrians carry a compatible UWB tag; the unit measures its distance to each tag and to other X10 units by UWB ranging, to 10–30 cm. Confirm the tag model for your site with us.
What can it switch when it raises an alarm?
It has 2 relays with 2 normally open and 2 normally closed outputs, for a beacon, horn, cab warning or a speed-limit input, and reports live distance over RS485.
Does it need calibration?
No. It works on power-up and needs no calibration in use. The alarm distance is set between 0 and 100 m.
Can it connect to a PLC?
Yes, over RS485 at 115200 baud, with Modbus-RTU as an option.
