Overview
What the reusable UHF RFID cable tie tag does
Many assets have nowhere flat to stick a label: the neck of a gas cylinder, a container lashing point, a bundle of cables. The ID-CTT-960 puts a UHF tag on a strap that loops around the asset instead. Unlike a one-time ratchet tie, it can be opened and refitted without damaging the tag, so tags move with your asset pool as cylinders are retired or containers change hands.
Choosing the 285 mm or 448 mm strap
Both lengths are 28 mm wide and 8 mm thick. Choose the shorter strap for smaller circumferences such as cable bundles and narrow fittings, and the longer one for larger fittings, handles and container hardware. Measure the circumference the strap must go around before you order.
Range, chip and durability
Read range is 1–8 m depending on the reader and antenna, with the upper end needing a high-gain UHF reader. The Impinj Monza U8 or U9 chip on ISO 18000-6C carries a 96-bit EPC. An ABS body with an aluminium etched antenna keeps it waterproof, weatherproof and chemical-resistant in outdoor yards and filling plants.
Fitting on metal assets
Standard UHF tags read poorly when pressed flat against steel, so on cylinders and containers keep the tag body clear of the metal where you can, and trial a few assets first. What is the read range of the ID-CTT-960?
It reads from 1 to 8 m depending on the reader and antenna. The upper end needs a high-gain UHF reader; tag orientation, nearby metal and the mounting position also affect range.
Can the cable tie tag be reused?
Yes. The strap can be opened, moved to another cylinder, container or bundle and reattached without damaging the tag, which suits asset pools where items are retired or replaced.
Is it suitable for outdoor use and gas cylinders?
Yes. The ABS body with an aluminium etched antenna is waterproof, weatherproof and chemical-resistant, and the strap fastens around the asset, so no drilling or adhesive is needed. On metal cylinders, keep the tag body clear of the steel where possible and test before rollout.
Does it work on India’s UHF band?
Yes. It covers 860–960 MHz, including India’s licence-exempt 865–868 MHz band, and uses ISO 18000-6C / EPC Class 1 Gen 2, so standard UHF readers can read it.
