A square on-metal RFID tag for flat steel faces

The IDTS-5858 is a 58 mm square ABS patch, 4.5 mm thick, designed to be fixed straight onto metal. The square format suits flat faces such as cabinet doors, enclosure sides, machine frames and rack end panels, where a long bar tag would overhang an edge. Mounted on metal, it reads at around 5 m with a standard UHF reader.

Adhesive and screws on one tag

The rear face carries pre-applied 3M VHB double-sided tape, so on a clean, flat surface installation is peel and press. For assets that are moved often or knocked about, use the four 3.2 mm corner holes, set 52 mm apart. Many teams do both: tape the tag in position, then screw it down for a permanent fixing.

The U8 chip runs ISO 18000-6C with a 128-bit EPC for your asset number and a 96-bit factory TID, so asset-management software and handhelds treat it like any other UHF tag.
