Overview
A small screw-mount on-metal RFID tag for tight spaces
Some metal assets have no room for a large tag: a valve guard, a jig, a bracket on a machine, the collar of a cylinder. The IDTS-2626 is a 26 mm square, 5.5 mm thick, with a PCB antenna sealed in epoxy resin inside a metal alloy body. Two countersunk 4.2 mm holes let screw heads sit flush with the face, so there is nothing to snag and no adhesive to peel off.
Close-range reads, wide temperature rating
Read distance is about 2 m, depending on the reader. That suits handheld checks at a tool crib counter, a workbench or a filling station, where the operator is already beside the asset. For aisle sweeps or dock-door portals, a larger on-metal tag will give more distance. The −40 °C to +200 °C operating range lets one part number cover cold stores and hot process areas alike.
Works with standard UHF readers
The NXP UCODE 8 chip runs ISO 18000-6C with a 128-bit EPC for your asset number and a 96-bit factory TID, so it reads on the UHF handheld readers most sites already use. Compare it with other PCB and ceramic RFID tags before you standardise on a size.
Typical applications
- Jigs and fixtures
- Cylinder collars and valve guards
- Moulds and dies
- Machine sub-assemblies
- Valves and pipeline flanges
- Rolling-stock fittings
