UHF RFID Antenna Cable, SMA Male to SMA Male, 5 m (LMR-240 Class, 50 Ω)
A 5 m, 50 Ω coaxial cable with SMA male connectors at both ends, in the LMR-240 class, for a UHF RFID reader with SMA ports and an antenna a few metres away. Thicker than LMR-195, so a 5 m run loses about as much as 3 m of the thin class.

Key features
- 50 Ω coaxial cable, SMA male at both ends, 5 m long
- LMR-240 class: about 0.25 dB per metre at 866 MHz, typical for the class
- Fits the SMA ports of the IHZ4, IHZ4N, IHZ8 and PoE multi-port readers and the RM26 module
- For antennas with an SMA female tail; N female antennas take the N to SMA cable
- Indoor use; mid-length runs across a room or a conveyor
- Frequency range
- Suited to the 865–868 MHz UHF RFID band; the class is rated well above it
Overview
What the 5 m SMA to SMA antenna cable is for
When the antenna sits a few metres from the reader, across a conveyor, on the far side of a doorway or on the ceiling above a workbench, a 5 m cable in the LMR-240 class keeps the loss down without the bulk of LMR-400. SMA male connectors at both ends fit the antenna ports of the IHZ4, PoE IHZ4, IHZ8 and IHZ4N readers and the RM26 module, and an antenna whose cable tail ends in an SMA female connector, such as the 8 dBi and 9 dBi directional PCB antennas. An antenna with an SMA male tail needs a cable with a female end instead, quoted on request.
LMR-240 against the other classes
Typical loss figures for the classes at 866 MHz are about 0.36 dB per metre for LMR-195, 0.25 dB for LMR-240 and 0.13 dB for LMR-400. Over 5 m that is roughly 1.8 dB, 1.25 dB and 0.65 dB respectively, before connectors. LMR-240 is the usual middle choice: it bends around a cable tray more easily than LMR-400 and loses a third less than LMR-195. Check the effect on your reader and antenna pair in the read-range calculator.
Ordering
Count one cable per antenna port in use. Tell us the reader, the antennas and the measured route length, and we quote the cables with the right connectors; a panel antenna with an N female socket takes the N male to SMA male type. Other lengths are quoted on request through the quote form. All cables, adapters and mounts are listed under RFID accessories.
