The ID-IUR-3DBI-BK is the 3 dBi integrated UHF RFID reader in a black housing. Its reading hardware matches the standard ID-IUR-3DBI: 860–960 MHz, EPC Gen2, 1–3 m range, Wiegand 26/34 and RS485. The choice between the two comes down to where the reader will be seen. Against dark glass, granite, wood panelling or a black turnstile, a black unit sits in with the fit-out instead of standing out as a white box.

What a 1–3 m UHF reader changes at reception

With a UHF card on a lanyard, employees and hotel staff are read as they approach the door or turnstile instead of stopping to tap. That keeps lobbies moving at peak hours and leaves the entrance looking uncluttered. Visitors can be issued temporary UHF cards that the same reader accepts.

Installation tips for finished interiors

Plan a concealed cable entry behind the unit so power and the Wiegand or RS485 cable do not run on the wall surface. Keep metal mullions, metal-framed glass fins and signage brackets out of the area directly in front of the reader, because metal close to the antenna shortens its range. Where two readers face adjacent doors, angle them apart so one does not pick up cards meant for the other, and commission with the card staff will actually carry.
