The ID-55X15 is a high-performance UHF RFID inlay measuring 55mm × 15mm, engineered for on-metal asset tracking applications. Built on the UHF chip platform, it delivers reliable read ranges of up to 6 m in demanding real-world environments.
Key Features:
- Compact 55mm × 15mm form factor
- UHF chip — optimised for long-range performance and fast inventory cycles
- Frequency: 860–960 MHz (global UHF RFID standard)
- Read range: up to 6 metres (depending on antenna and environment)
- Flexible, thin substrate suitable for flat and curved surface application
- RoHS-compliant materials; suitable for high-volume industrial deployment
The ID-55X15 is compatible with all standard UHF RFID readers and printers. Ideal for warehouse logistics, retail, manufacturing, and field asset management where high-throughput scanning and durability matter.
About the 55x15 Flexible & Printable UHF On-metal Label
The ID-55X15 is a long, slim strip — 55 mm by 15 mm — shaped for narrow metal faces: pipe runs, conduit, cable-tray edges, extrusion profiles, rack rails and the spine of a steel cabinet. A strip fits where a square label overhangs, so it leaves the rest of the surface free for hazard markings and paint. Because this is a thin flexible inlay and not a moulded block, it bends onto tubes and rounded edges, and the printed face still holds a barcode above the encoded number. Expect reads of up to 6 m, with your antenna and the surrounding steel deciding where in that range a given install lands.

Best-fit applications
- Pipe spool, valve and flange identification through shutdowns and turnarounds
- Conduit, cable tray and busbar runs on electrical contracting sites
- Scaffold tubes, props and formwork panels in equipment hire fleets
- Rack rails and beam faces serving as location markers in narrow aisles
- Steel tool cabinets, trolleys and workshop furniture registers
- Returnable metal frames and stillages moving between plant and vendor
Mounting, encoding and reading notes
Run the strip along the axis of a pipe or rail rather than wrapping it around the circumference; a tight wrap distorts the label and costs you distance. Clean and dry the face, then bed the whole 55 mm down in one stroke instead of tacking the ends. Serialise the printed code and the stored number together on the same printer pass so the two can never drift apart. In a dense pipe rack, stand in front of the label instead of reading along the run, and leave roughly a hand-span between neighbouring tags.
Why buy from Identium
This strip is produced at our own New Delhi plant, where we have made RFID since 2010, and that keeps sampling, artwork changes and reruns a short conversation instead of a shipping schedule. Stock is tuned for India at 865-868 MHz and drops straight into ETSI 865-868 MHz projects, while FCC 902-928 MHz versions can be built to order. Bulk and OEM quantities, pre-encoded rolls and free samples are all available. See our wider UHF inlays and labels or work through the fixed asset audit guide first.
Frequently asked questions
Does this 55x15mm RFID label read on metal assets?
Yes, the ID-55X15 UHF RFID label is engineered for on-metal asset tracking, whereas ordinary paper RFID labels do not read reliably on metal. Its flexible substrate applies to flat and curved metal surfaces, making it suitable for machinery, racking, panels and returnable containers.
What is the read range of this 55x15 UHF on-metal label?
The ID-55X15 UHF on-metal RFID label offers a read range of up to 6 metres depending on the antenna and environment. Reader power, tag orientation and nearby metal all affect the practical distance, so testing in your own warehouse or plant is advised before rollout.
Is this UHF RFID label compatible with Indian frequency regulations?
Yes. The ID-55X15 covers the 860 to 960 MHz global UHF RFID range, which includes the 865 to 868 MHz band approved by WPC for India and licence-free within notified power limits. It works with all standard UHF RFID readers and printers used in India.
What is the price of on-metal RFID labels in India for bulk orders?
The price of on-metal RFID labels in India depends on order quantity and any custom printing or encoding required, so refer to the listed price or request a bulk quotation. India RFID Store is a BIS and WPC certified Indian manufacturer offering OEM pricing, samples and pan-India delivery.
