A handheld reader that lives on a desk cradle is charged at the start of every shift and easy to find. The cradle holds the CX1500N upright, charges it through its contacts and, where the cradle has a battery bay, charges a spare 10,000 mAh pack at the same time. The CX1500N page lists an optional cradle for charging and data transfer, with DC 5 V input; the cradle quoted here is sold for charging, and any data function is stated in the quotation for the unit you receive.

Using it with a fleet

A site with several readers keeps one cradle per reader, so every unit returns to the same spot and the night shift finds them charged. Pair each cradle with a spare pack and a reader can swap packs at the shift change instead of stopping to charge. The inventory evaluation kit includes a CX1500N, so the same cradle fits it.
