Overview
For staff who tap a reader all day
A card on a lanyard is fine for a visitor; a nurse, a forklift driver or a security guard who taps a door, a cabinet or an attendance terminal dozens of times a shift wants the card on a reel. Clipped to a belt or pocket, the card pulls out on its cord to the reader and springs back, so it is never dangling, never swinging into machinery and never left on a desk.
Options and reading
- Clip: a belt clip that slides over a belt or pocket edge, or an alligator clip that grips fabric.
- Card attachment: a vinyl strap through the card's slot, or a clear holder that takes the whole card.
- Face: 32 mm, printed with your logo, typical for the class.
The reel housing is plastic, so it does not block the card; when tapping, the card is pulled out on its cord anyway, so it is clear of the reel and of any other card in the wearer's pocket. It fits our printed ID cards and the plain 13.56 MHz and 125 kHz cards.

Frequently asked questions
Does a metal reel affect reading the card?
The reels we quote have a plastic housing, typical for the class. Either way, the card is pulled out on its cord when it is tapped, so it is away from the reel and from any other card in the wearer's pocket; keep the card clear of the reel when tapping.
Can the card be swapped?
Yes. With a vinyl strap the card slides off the strap through its slot; with a clear holder it lifts out. Cards with a punched slot suit the strap; unpunched cards use the holder.
What is the minimum order?
500 pcs, the consumables rule. Printed faces are made to order and confirmed with an artwork proof.
