Overview
What the F529 long-range active RFID reader does
The F529 is a 2.4 GHz ultra-long range integrated reader: antennas, radio and network connection sit in one unit that works as an outdoor base station. It collects signals from active RFID tags in real time. Because the reader's own position is known, every read places a person, vehicle or item near that base station, and software builds location and movement history from those reads.
Directional reading up to 400 m
Dual-polarised directional antennas give a read range of up to 400 m. The F529 carries four antennas facing four directions, so along with the tag ID it can determine which side of the reader a tag is on. On a perimeter, a yard or an access road, that lets software separate a vehicle on the north side from one on the south side.
Remote management
- TCP/IP and GPRS: parameter configuration and firmware upgrades from a remote location, so readers on poles or distant sites rarely need a visit.
- Bluetooth BLE 4.0: set parameters from a phone or tablet while installing.
Built for outdoor sites
The housing is rainproof, with lightning protection and a design that withstands typhoon-strength winds. That matters for pole- or wall-mounted readers that stay out through the Indian monsoon.
Where it is used
- Outdoor tracking of people and vehicles across campuses, plants and yards
- Asset and personnel location data collection
- Visitor management on large sites
- Personnel attendance at open-air work sites
F529 or F530?
The F529 covers long distances outdoors. For a short, controlled read zone at a doorway or inside a school bus, the F530 indoor active reader, with a 5 m default range, is the better fit. Both read battery-powered active tags, not passive UHF labels; our UHF vs active RFID comparison explains when each technology makes sense. When you request a quote, tell us the tag model and the distances you need to cover so the pairing and range can be confirmed.
