About the Identium UHF RFID PCB Tag D25-25

The D25-25 is the long-range end of Identium's small RFID PCB tag 865 MHz family: a D25x2.5 mm disc with an H9 chip, a 2 mm mounting aperture and a rated read range of up to 200 cm on metal. That distance changes what you can do with it, because two metres is portal territory and not just handheld territory. Warehouse teams use it for rack and location tags read from a moving trolley, while plant and utility teams put it on cylinders, panels and heavy equipment where the operator cannot always get close to the item being counted.

Fix this disc through its 2 mm aperture with an M2 screw or rivet on assets that vibrate, or epoxy it flat where drilling is not allowed; either way the body must lie fully against the metal. With 200 cm of range the risk is over-reading rather than under-reading, so trim reader power and apply RSSI filtering at a portal, and separate tagged items by a hand-span on a shelf. Programme and check each EPC on a desktop reader before deployment, and mark every tag with its matching asset number.
