Overview
RFID locker lock built for spa and pool changing rooms
Wet hands, steam and chlorinated air are hard on keyed locks, and keys on elastic bands are easily lost. The ID-CL-EM139 does away with the key. A guest taps an RFID card or wristband once to lock the locker and again to open it. The zinc alloy body is corrosion resistant, which matters around saunas, steam rooms and pool decks.
Security for unattended lockers
Changing-room lockers sit unattended for hours while their users are in the pool or on the treatment table. The EM139 includes wrong-try lockout protection: after repeated failed attempts, the lock auto-locks, so nobody can work through a pile of cards until one opens it.
Fitting and credentials
- At 124 × 53 × 11.5 mm the body is broad but very thin and sits close to the door face. Check the door thickness and any existing cutout, as locker doors vary a lot between makers.
- DC 6V battery power means no cables have to be run through the locker bank.
- The lock reads 125 kHz ID or 13.56 MHz IC credentials. Tell us which frequency you use so cards and wristbands arrive matched. The RFID card buyer guide explains the difference.
- Ask users to hold the card flat against the read area instead of swiping it past.
Cards or wristbands in wet areas
In pools and steam rooms, silicone RFID wristbands generally last longer than paper or PVC cards and stay on the wrist instead of in a wet pocket. Hotels and spa chains can order the lock with their own logo on the face. More models are in RFID locks.
Typical applications
- Spa & sauna lockers
