125 kHz + UHF hybrid dual-frequency ISO cards
The RFID 125 kHz + UHF hybrid dual-frequency badges (ISO7816 format) have been designed to facilitate all your access control migrations. Many chip technologies, with or without magnetic stripe, are available: 125 kHz for proximity access control + UHF EPC1 GEN2 for long range identification.
Why Dual Frequency RFID Cards?
LF-UHF dual frequency cards solve a common upgrade challenge: your existing access control system uses LF (125 kHz), but you want to add UHF (865 MHz) capability for long-range vehicle or asset tracking without replacing your HID/proximity readers. One card gives you both — swipe it at your existing LF door reader, and drive through your new UHF vehicle gate. No system replacement needed. Contact us for a compatibility assessment.
About the DUAL FREQUENCY RFID CARDS LF-UHF
Vehicle gates want range; door readers want a badge held to a panel. The LF-UHF dual frequency RFID card puts both on one ISO7816 hybrid badge, pairing a 125 kHz chip for existing proximity access control with a UHF EPC Gen2 chip for long-range identification on the Indian 865-868 MHz band. Staff carry on using the same card at the installed proximity readers, and that same card answers a UHF gate reader as they approach. Nothing in the legacy door system has to be ripped out, which is why this card is the usual answer when a site bolts parking or vehicle tracking onto an installation it does not want to replace.

Best-fit applications
- Employee parking where the card opens the door on LF and is read at the boom barrier on UHF
- Gated industrial estates issuing one badge for gatehouse turnstiles and vehicle lanes
- Warehouses adding UHF dock-door personnel reads to an installed proximity system
- IT parks and hospitals where visitor lanes need distance but doors stay on 125 kHz
- Logistics yards recording driver movement without touching the office access panels
- School and college campuses adding UHF bus-gate reads to existing LF student cards
Mounting, encoding and reading notes
The UHF side is written with your EPC numbering on a desktop encoder before issue and the 125 kHz side with the facility code your panels already expect, so supply both plans together and the records will line up. Range on the UHF chip depends heavily on presentation: a card pressed against the body or lying on a metal dashboard reads far shorter than one held clear and face-on, so aim gate antennas at where the card will actually be. Personalise with printing, photo ID and numbering before encoding, not after.
Why buy from Identium
These cards are made in India by a BIS and WPC certified manufacturer working since 2010, and because the UHF band sits inside ETSI 865-868 MHz they ship as-is to EU, UK, GCC and African projects. We pre-encode to your scheme, print artwork, quote bulk and OEM runs, and send free samples so you can test against your own readers first. Frequently asked questions
What is an LF-UHF dual frequency RFID card used for?
An LF-UHF dual frequency card combines a 125 kHz proximity chip with a UHF EPC1 Gen 2 chip in one ISO7816 badge. Staff tap it at existing LF door readers, and the same card is read at long range at a UHF vehicle gate, so no reader replacement is needed.
Will an LF-UHF card work with my existing proximity readers?
Yes, that is the purpose of an LF-UHF dual frequency card: the 125 kHz side keeps working with your installed proximity readers while the UHF side adds long-range vehicle and asset identification. Chip options vary, so ask India RFID Store for a compatibility assessment before ordering.
Which UHF frequency do these dual frequency cards use in India?
The UHF side of an LF-UHF dual frequency card uses EPC1 Gen 2 and is read in India's 865-868 MHz UHF band, which WPC has approved and which is licence-free within notified power limits. The LF side stays at 125 kHz for existing proximity infrastructure.
Can I order LF-UHF dual frequency cards in bulk in India?
Yes. LF-UHF dual frequency cards are supplied in bulk with optional magnetic stripe and custom printing. Because chip choice must match your installed readers, India RFID Store offers a compatibility assessment first, then a bulk quote based on the chips selected and the quantity required.
