About the Single PORT BOARD ICL1P | Impinj E3500 | Wifi
Not every read point needs four antennas. The ICL1P is a single port UHF RFID module on the Impinj E3500, sized for the product that has exactly one antenna: a kiosk, a cabinet, a turnstile head or a bench station. Read distance runs up to 15 m with a read speed of 400 times per second, and the board carries the same Linux on ARM9 platform as its bigger siblings so it can sit powered on 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. WiFi support and SDKs for all languages let a small OEM device report tags without adding a separate controller.

Best-fit applications
- Single-lane parking automation or a standalone boom barrier controller
- Automatic time attendance at one school or factory turnstile
- Library issue and return counters with a single desk antenna
- Tool crib and store issue windows where one read zone covers the hatch
- Laundry management drop points and single-bag check-in stations
- OEM kiosks and vending or dispensing machines that need one embedded read point
Mounting, encoding and reading notes
With one port, everything depends on antenna choice and placement: point the single antenna at the spot where tags actually pass, and keep it off large metal panels or add separation from them. Mount the board on standoffs, keep the coax run short and of good quality since there is no second zone to compensate, and lower transmit power if the reader starts picking up tags outside the intended area. Bring it up over Com Port or network with the auto scan, then move to WiFi reporting through the SDK in your own application.
Why buy from Identium
Identium manufactures in New Delhi, is BIS and WPC certified, and has been building RFID since 2015, so Indian OEMs get local stock, GST invoicing and direct engineering help while export buyers get an ETSI-compatible board. Bulk and OEM pricing, custom tag encoding and free samples are all available on request. Compare the range under RFID modules, or read our guide to RFID software and middleware integration.
Frequently asked questions
What is the read range of the ICL1P single port RFID module?
The ICL1P single port RFID module reads up to 15 metres and handles 400 reads per second, which suits a single door, lane or workstation. It is a board level UHF reader meant to be embedded inside a kiosk, barrier controller or custom enclosure by an integrator.
Should I choose a single port or a four port RFID module?
Choose a single port module such as the ICL1P when one antenna covers the read point, for example a single door or one parking lane, and a four port board when a wide gate or several lanes must be covered from one unit. The ICL1P supports WiFi and automatic scanning over COM port or network.
Does the ICL1P module support continuous 24x7 operation?
Yes. The ICL1P runs Linux on an ARM9 CPU built for 24 hours a day, 365 days a year operation, so it can be left running in unattended installations. WiFi is supported, Bluetooth and 4G are optional, and SDKs are provided for all common languages.
Where are single port UHF RFID modules used in India?
Single port UHF RFID modules like the ICL1P are used in India for school attendance, personnel tracking in plants, library security, access control, toll and parking automation, hospital, laundry, event and logistics management. They operate on the 865 to 867 MHz band notified by WPC for licence free RFID use.
