Overview

RFID guard patrol tag: one tag per checkpoint

A guard tour system proves that security staff visited each point on their round. You fix one IDTS-LPT tag at every checkpoint; the guard touches it with a patrol wand or phone, and the reader stores the tag ID with the time. At the end of the shift the records are downloaded and compared with the planned route.

Match the chip to your patrol reader

125 kHz LF

For patrol wands and systems built around 125 kHz proximity tags, common in older installations.

13.56 MHz HF

For 13.56 MHz HF patrol readers and sites that already use HF access cards.

NFC

For patrol apps on NFC smartphones, so guards do not need a separate wand.

LF and HF readers cannot read each other’s tags, so confirm your reader’s frequency before ordering.

Size, colour and fixing

Use 25 or 30 mm where space is tight, such as door frames and pillars, and 40 or 50 mm where a printed number should be visible from a distance. Black or white ABS lets the tag blend in or stand out. For a numbered 50 mm HF disc with a large central hole, see the MIFARE coin tag ID-COIN-HF50; other 125 kHz formats are in LF RFID tags.

Frequently asked questions

Which chip should I order for my patrol system?
Match your existing reader. Older patrol wands typically read 125 kHz LF tags, HF patrol readers use 13.56 MHz, and patrol apps on smartphones need NFC. LF and HF readers are not interchangeable, so check with your patrol system supplier before ordering.
Can guards use a phone instead of a patrol wand?
Yes, if you order the NFC version and your patrol software has a phone app. The guard taps the phone on the tag to log the visit.
How is the tag fixed at a checkpoint?
Screw it through the centre hole for a permanent fixing on walls, poles and frames, or use the 3M adhesive backing on smooth surfaces where drilling is not allowed.
Can checkpoint numbers be printed on the tag?
Yes. Laser printing and silk-screen printing are available on request, so each tag can carry its checkpoint number or your logo.
