Overview

Where the IDTS-GFL12 fingerprint glass door lock fits

The IDTS-GFL12 is a battery-powered smart lock for frameless glass doors: office cabins, conference rooms, shop fronts and sliding glass doors. It comes in two parts, a front unit with the keypad, card area and fingerprint sensor, and a receiver unit. On glass-to-glass doors both units clamp onto the glass, so no holes are drilled and no cable is run.

Ways to unlock

  • Fingerprint on a semiconductor sensor, for regular staff.
  • Password, with a peep-proof option, so anyone watching sees a longer string than the real code. Temporary passwords suit visitors, housekeeping or contractors.
  • RFID card (IC card type). The lock holds far more cards than fingerprints or passwords, so once those slots are taken, the rest of the team can use cards.
  • Tuya app over Bluetooth, for opening from a phone near the door and checking the door-opening records.
  • Wireless remote (optional), with an opening distance of about 20 m.

Installing it on glass and framed doors

The lock clamps onto the glass and is installed by tightening three screws. Where each unit goes depends on the door:

  • Glass-to-glass double doors: front unit on one leaf, receiver unit on the other. The gap between the leaves must be 4–10 mm, and no holes go into the glass.
  • Sliding glass doors: listed as compatible.
  • Single glass leaf closing against a frame, or framed aluminium, iron or wooden doors: the frame must be wider than 6 cm, the installed thickness must be within 4–7 cm, and most hollow frame edges have to be drilled.

Send us the glass thickness, the door type and a photo of the door, and we will confirm the fit in your quotation.

Power, emergency opening and modes

Four AA batteries (4.5–6 V) power the lock, and a low-battery reminder tells you when to change them. If the cells run flat, a power bank on the USB emergency port powers the lock so it can be opened. Inside, an indoor switch knob opens the door and a mode switch selects auto-lock, normally-open (handy during office hours) or one-click unlock. From outside, one touch locks the door, and there is a doorbell button and voice prompts.

How it compares with our other locks

The IDTS-GFL12 is our glass door lock, for office cabins, conference rooms and other glass doors. The IDTS-KPL7 keypad lock is for wooden cabinets, wardrobes and drawers and is fitted through holes drilled in the door. The smart Bluetooth padlock secures gates, shutters and storerooms and works with the TTLock app. Every model is listed under RFID locks.

Frequently asked questions

Will it fit my glass door?
Start with the glass thickness: the lock is made for 10–12 mm glass, and 8 mm and 15 mm glass is also listed. Then check how the door closes, against a second glass leaf or against a frame, because that sets the remaining limits (the gap between leaves, or the frame size). The clamp grips the glass, so the glass itself is not drilled.
Which app does it use, and how does the phone connect?
The Tuya app, over Bluetooth. The phone connects to the lock directly, so it has to be near the door to open it; the app also shows the door-opening records. To open the door from a reception desk, add the optional wireless remote, which works from about 20 m away.
What happens if the batteries run out?
The lock runs on four AA batteries and gives a low-battery reminder before they run down, so change them when the reminder comes on. If they do run flat, connect a power bank to the USB emergency port to power the lock and open it.
Which RFID cards work with it?
It reads IC-type RFID cards and can store up to 249 of them. If you want to use your existing staff ID or access cards, send us the card type or a sample card with your enquiry, and we will confirm compatibility in the quotation.
Can it be used on sliding or double glass doors?
Yes, both are listed. On a glass-to-glass double door the front unit clamps on one leaf and the receiver unit on the facing leaf, with 4–10 mm between them. A glass door that shuts against a frame also works if the frame is over 6 cm wide and the installed thickness is 4–7 cm, but the hollow frame edge usually needs drilling.
