Overview
What the 50 × 30 mm UHF RFID label is for
This is a compact smart label: a white matte face for printing, with a UHF RFID inlay underneath. Print a barcode, SKU or logo on top and encode the chip, and the same label can be scanned by a barcode gun or read in bulk by an RFID reader. At 50 × 30 mm it sits flat on retail boxes, pharma cartons and file covers where a wider label would wrap round an edge.
Printing and encoding
The face is thermal printable, so a UHF RFID printer-encoder can print the text and write the Monza R6 chip's 96-bit EPC in a single pass. Labels can also be supplied blank, pre-encoded with your number series, or custom printed, on rolls of 500 or 1,000. See our RFID printers if you plan to print in-house.
Read range and surfaces
With a standard 1 W reader expect 3–7 m; antenna gain, label orientation and what sits behind the label decide where in that band you land. Cardboard, plastic, wood and paper are all fine. Metal and liquid-filled containers detune standard UHF labels, so tag those with an on-metal RFID tag instead.
When to choose a larger label
Smaller antennas generally give up some read distance. If cartons must be read from several metres away at a dock door, compare the larger formats in our UHF RFID inlays and labels range before you order.
Where to use the UHF RFID Label 50 × 30 mm (Impinj Monza R6)
