RFID for hotels and resorts in India: guest cards, pool wristbands, linen tracking and locker locks

A hotel or resort uses RFID for five jobs: guest key cards, pool and water-park wristbands, cashless wristbands for restaurants and bars, linen and uniform tracking, and spa and gym lockers. India RFID Store supplies the cards, wristbands, laundry tags, locker locks and readers for all five, from ₹10 + GST for a plain HF card and ₹22 + GST for a Tyvek wristband (minimum order 500 pcs for cards, bands and tags). We do not supply guest-room door locks or hotel management (PMS) software, so key cards are made with the chip your door-lock system already reads.
Guest key cards
Blank or printed 13.56 MHz cards with the chip your door locks read; your front-desk encoder writes the room.
Pool and water park
Waterproof silicone bands for walk-through entry, and dual-frequency bands that also pay and open lockers.
Cashless wristbands
A tap-to-pay band linked to a prepaid wallet on the IDPay platform.
Linen and uniforms
Washable UHF tags sewn into sheets, towels and uniforms, counted a cart at a time.
Spa and gym lockers
Locker locks that open with the card or wristband the guest already carries.
Guest key cards: match the chip your door locks read
An RFID hotel lock opens for a card only when two things match: the chip in the card, and the data that the lock system's own encoder writes onto it at the front desk, such as the room and the dates of the stay. The chip is fixed by the lock system, not by the card supplier.
Card-operated hotel locks often read a 13.56 MHz MIFARE chip, for example MIFARE Classic 1K or one of the MIFARE Ultralight types; NXP, the maker of MIFARE, offers its MIFARE Ultralight AES chip for hotel key cards and secure room access. So the first step is the exact chip name: ask your lock supplier, or send a card that already works in your locks with your enquiry, and the chip is confirmed in the quotation.
Once the chip is known, we supply the cards for your encoder to write:
- NFC cards (CR80) with a choice of MIFARE Classic 1K or 4K, MIFARE DESFire EV1 or EV2, NTAG213/215/216 or ICODE SLIX chips, printed in full colour with gloss or matte lamination and your logo, QR code or sequential numbers: ₹20 + GST, minimum 500 pcs.
- Plain HF cards, unprinted 13.56 MHz PVC, for a hotel that prints on its own card printer: ₹10 + GST. Confirm the chip against your locks in the quotation.
- Printed RFID ID cards with the employee's name, photo and number on an HF or LF chip, for staff ID and attendance at the staff entrance: ₹30 + GST.
If your locks read a chip that is not listed on the card pages, ask before you plan around it, and check with your lock supplier that its encoder accepts blank cards bought elsewhere. Staff cards follow the attendance or door readers already at the staff entrance: the attendance management guide covers that side, and every card type is under RFID cards.
Pool, beach and water-park wristbands
At the pool the credential has to survive water and stay on the wrist all day; after that, the choice depends on what else the band must do.
- Walk-through entry only: the C03 UHF silicone wristband (₹65 + GST) is IP68, adjustable, and read at 0.5–1.5 m by a standard UHF reader, so guests pass a gate without tapping. It is UHF only: it will not pay at an HF counter or open an HF or LF locker lock.
- Entry, payment and lockers on one band: the waterproof dual-frequency wristband ID-DFW-809 (₹170 + GST) is IP68, chemical-resistant silicone with an HF 13.56 MHz chip for tap payment and lockers and a UHF chip for entry reads at several metres. The ID-DFW-808 (₹245 + GST) offers MIFARE Classic, MIFARE DESFire or NTAG for its HF chip.
- Day passes and events: the Tyvek wristband (₹22 + GST) is a disposable band with an all-round, single-piece closure, printed in your colours and artwork for each event. Name the chip your readers use when you order.
Every band is under RFID wristbands, split into silicone and disposable types, and the wristband price guide compares them. A resort that also hosts concerts or large functions can use the event management page for entry control at that scale.
Cashless wristbands for restaurants, bars and the pool deck
A cashless resort runs as a closed loop: each guest's wristband or card points to a prepaid wallet, and a reader at every counter charges it. The IDPay RFID cashless payment system page lists the hardware for that pattern: 13.56 MHz HF wristbands and NFC cards, a handheld for each counter, a desktop reader-writer for the top-up counter and a receipt printer.
Payment bands are HF because a charge should reach only the band held to the reader; a UHF band reads from a distance and belongs at the entry lane. IDPay itself is built by IdentiumOne, and the solution page links to its features and a demo. With a dual-frequency band from the section above, one wristband carries both the entry pass and the wallet.
Linen and uniform tracking
Hotels lose linen in small numbers at each hand-off between housekeeping and the laundry, whether the laundry is in-house or outsourced. With a washable UHF tag in each sheet, towel, bathrobe and uniform, a reader counts a full cart in one pass, so both sides sign off the same figure.
- The UHF fabric laundry tag UFLT-5610 (55 × 10 mm, NXP UCODE 8) is rated for more than 200 washes and 200 °C ironing for 10 seconds, sealed to IP68, read at up to 7 m and sewn on: ₹32 + GST. Sew-in, iron-on, silicone and button tags are under washable laundry tags.
- A UHF handheld such as the CX1000 (₹30,000 + GST, reads at up to 6 m) handles linen-room audits and spot counts; a walk-through gate at the laundry door counts carts going out and coming back.
The RFID laundry management system page shows the tags, gate and conveyor readers and handhelds together, and the laundry and linen guide covers wash cycles, ironing and payback in depth.
Spa, gym and pool lockers
A card-operated locker lock lets a guest open a locker with the key card or wristband already in hand, so the spa or gym hands out no keys. The slim gym locker lock ID-CL-EM128 (₹4,799 + GST) opens with 125 kHz ID cards, 13.56 MHz IC cards or compatible RFID wristbands, fits narrow locker doors at 150 × 37 × 16 mm and runs on a replaceable battery, so the lockers need no wiring.
Match the lock to the credential: an HF card, or the HF chip of a dual-frequency band, works with a 13.56 MHz lock set up for that chip, while a UHF-only band such as the C03 opens none of these locks. For members who keep a band, the adjustable silicone wristband C08 (₹95 + GST) is made with an LF, HF or UHF chip; order the LF or HF version to match the locker locks.
Cabinet and keypad locks for back-of-house storage are under RFID locks, and the locker lock price guide explains how each lock opens when its battery runs down.
What we do not supply
We do not sell guest-room door locks, the encoders that write room keys, or hotel property management (PMS) software. Those come from your lock and PMS suppliers; we supply cards and wristbands with the chip their system reads, plus the locker locks, laundry tags and readers on this page. Linen counting and IDPay wallets run on IdentiumOne software, described on the two solution pages above.

Minimum order, samples and quotes
Cards, wristbands and laundry tags are sold from 500 pcs; locker locks and readers from 1 unit. Cards, wristbands and tags can be sampled first (₹250 for 1–2 pieces including shipping, or collect them from our New Delhi office) through the samples form, which is the safe way to try a key card on your own encoder and locks before a bulk order; locks and readers are purchased, not sampled. Send the chip your locks read (or a card that works in them), band colours and quantities through the quote request form, and see the RFID price list for every listed price.
