A mid-range UHF ABS asset tag in two versions

The HDA-80 is an 88 × 27 × 5.5 mm hard tag in industrial PC/ABS, weighing 13 g. The key choice when ordering is the surface: IDTS-UMT88 is the on-metal version, while IDTS-UPT88 is for plastic, wood and other non-metal surfaces. A UHF tag used on the wrong surface loses much of its range, so specify the version for each asset type when you ask for a quote.

Read range at Indian power levels

The datasheet gives up to 15 m at 4 W ERP and up to 12 m at 2 W ERP. Readers on India’s 865–868 MHz band are limited to 2 W ERP, so 12 m is the figure to plan fixed read points around; handheld readers read at shorter distances. The Impinj Monza R6-P chip supports efficient reading of many tags at once, which helps when a trolley or a stack of bins passes a reader together.

Marking and where it fits

Asset numbers, barcodes or logos can be laser-engraved on the housing or printed on a polyester label, so staff can still identify an item by eye. Typical uses are plastic bin tagging, pallet identification, gate-mounted markers, waste containers and general asset registers.
