Overview
How the RFID event management system works
Every visitor carries an RFID credential: a tag or label built into the entrance ticket, or a wristband. The tag is linked to that visitor's record. At the entry gate a reader antenna reads the tag automatically, updates the server and records the visitor's location, so organisers can monitor who is inside the venue. For the wider picture of RFID event management in India, from gate entry to cashless wristbands and VIP zones, see our events and venues guide.
Cashless payments at counters
Point-of-sale counters sell contactless cards and wristbands loaded with value. A balance can hold money, admission entitlements, food and beverage credit, package deals and group discounts. Each transaction takes seconds, which keeps lines at food stalls, ticket windows and game counters short. Cashless counters also cut the cash that staff have to handle and reconcile at the end of the day.
Reports for the organiser
Entry and sales data are available as real-time reports, with analytics that show trends across the day. Organisers use them to see when gates are busiest and which counters sell most, then adjust staffing and plan the next edition.
Choosing wristbands and readers
- LF (125 kHz) and HF (13.56 MHz) wristbands are read close up, which suits tap-to-pay counters and one-at-a-time turnstiles.
- UHF wristbands read from further away and suit hands-free entry lanes.
- Ultra-low-cost chip modules keep single-day passes affordable for large crowds.
Wi-Fi readers let gates and counters go up without running network cables, which suits temporary venues. Wristbands are flexible and can be custom-made in your event's colours and branding. Browse disposable RFID wristbands for one-day events, or read our guide to RFID for events and festivals.
