Why the Encore on-metal UHF tag works where labels fail

Metal reflects radio waves and detunes an ordinary UHF label, so a sticker that reads at several metres on cardboard may not read at all on a steel toolbox. The Encore is built with materials and a construction meant for metal surfaces, so it keeps working when fixed straight onto a machine frame, tool body or bin.

Compact footprint, long reach

At 65 × 26 mm it fits where a longer asset tag will not: power tools, motor housings, fixtures and waste bins. Read range is up to 20 m with a suitable reader, enough to count a tool crib or a row of bins without handling each one. Allow for the 12 mm height when planning placement, especially where parts slide past or stack.

Fixing and typical uses

The tag can be fixed with screws, rivets or adhesive. Use mechanical fixing on tools, bins and outdoor equipment that get knocked about, and adhesive on clean, flat panels indoors. It is used for:

• tool tracking in cribs and maintenance stores
• waste bin identification at each collection
• machinery, IT equipment and utility assets
• vehicle identification and oil & gas equipment
