Overview

A small ABS RFID tag built around your chip

This 60 × 25 mm ABS tag is made to order with the chip your system needs: a 125 kHz chip for an existing access reader, a 13.56 MHz HF chip, or a UHF chip for reading many items at a distance. At 3.5 mm thick it sits flat on laptops, monitors, fixtures and plastic equipment cases.

Which frequency to choose

  • LF 125 kHz for access control and older proximity readers, read at close range.
  • HF 13.56 MHz for tap-to-read checks at a desk, tool crib or issue counter.
  • UHF for audits where a handheld reader counts a room or rack of assets in one sweep.

Our frequency guide covers the trade-offs in more detail.

Durability and memory

The rigid ABS body takes daily handling, and the chip is rated for 100,000 write cycles with 10 years of data retention, so asset records can be updated through the life of the item. Memory is 96, 204 or 512 bits depending on the chip you pick. This is a standard tag, not an on-metal design: for steel racks, tools and machines, choose from our on-metal RFID tags.

Typical applications

  • IT asset tagging
  • Tool traceability
  • Access control
  • Industrial traceability
  • Equipment identification

Frequently asked questions

Which frequencies is this ABS tag available in?
LF 125 kHz, HF 13.56 MHz or UHF (840–956 MHz). For deployments in India, the UHF version is read on the 865–868 MHz band, which falls inside that range.
Does this ABS RFID tag work on metal?
No. It is a standard tag, and metal detunes the antenna of tags that are not designed for it, so reads become unreliable. For racks, tools and machines, use an on-metal RFID tag instead.
How much data can the tag store?
Memory is 96, 204 or 512 bits depending on the chip chosen. The chip is rated for 100,000 write cycles and 10 years of data retention.
How do I specify the chip when ordering?
Tell us the frequency and, if you have one, the chip or reader model your system uses, for example a 125 kHz access reader or a UHF handheld. The tag is built to that chip, so testing a sample with your reader first avoids a mismatched batch.
