Overview

45 × 18 mm UHF RFID label for small retail goods

The ID 4518-H10 is a compact UHF label for products and packs that are too small for a 70 mm or 100 mm label, such as stationery, small electronics boxes and garment hang tags. Its 42 × 16 mm etched aluminium antenna fills most of the 45 × 18 mm face, on a 50 µm PET base that is tougher than paper.

Encoding for retail

The 128-bit EPC on the Alien Higgs 10 chip holds a GS1 SGTIN-96, so every unit carries its GTIN and its own serial number (see how to build one in our GS1 SGTIN-96 guide). The 96-bit TID is a factory-written serial that helps spot copied EPCs, while 32 bits of user memory are enough for a store or batch code.

Use the 32-bit access password to lock the EPC after encoding. The kill password lets a retailer permanently disable a tag at billing where that is required.

Roll and printer fit

Labels run on a 55 mm liner with a 3-inch core, 21.59 mm pitch and 3.59 mm gap, with the 45 mm side across the liner. Check that your RFID printer handles narrow media of this width. Apply the label to cardboard, paper, plastic or fabric; standard labels do not read reliably on metal or liquid-filled containers. For other sizes, browse UHF RFID inlays & labels.

Typical applications

  • Retail item tagging
  • Garment hang tags
  • Small carton labelling
  • Document labels
  • Store inventory counts

Frequently asked questions

What size is the ID 4518-H10 UHF RFID label?
The label measures 45 × 18 mm with 2 mm rounded corners, and the antenna inside is 42 × 16 mm. It is supplied on rolls with a 3-inch core and a 55 mm liner.
Which chip does the 4518-H10 use?
The Alien Higgs 10, with 128 bits of EPC memory, a 96-bit TID and 32 bits of user memory, plus 32-bit access and kill passwords. It follows ISO/IEC 18000-6C (EPC Class 1 Gen 2).
Does this label work on India's 865–868 MHz band?
Yes. It responds across 860–960 MHz, which covers India's licence-exempt 865–868 MHz band. It is passive and draws its power from the reader's signal.
Can this label be used on metal surfaces?
No. Like other standard PET labels, it does not read reliably when applied directly to metal or liquid-filled containers. For metal items, use an on-metal UHF label.
How is the 4518-H10 different from the ID 73x21-H10?
Both use the Alien Higgs 10 chip. The 4518-H10 is the compact 45 × 18 mm format for small products, while the ID 73x21-H10 is a 73 × 20 mm label with a longer antenna, used for files, cartons and assets.
