Overview
Eco UHF RFID paper label for retail tickets and cartons
The 9503-U9 eco label puts a UHF inlay with the NXP UCODE 9 chip under a printable paper face. It is made for item-level retail tagging, where a label has to be economical and printable. The store or warehouse prints article details and barcode and writes the EPC in the same pass on a UHF RFID printer.
Where a paper face makes sense
- Apparel and footwear: price tickets and box labels read at receiving, during shelf counts and at the till.
- Cosmetics and grocery: secondary cartons counted in distribution centres and back rooms.
- Fulfilment centres: pick, pack and return checks without scanning each barcode.
- Pharma secondary packs: cartons where a paper face is preferred over plastic.
Printing, encoding and placement
Calibrate the printer to the inlay position before the first run, then encode each label as it prints. Retail suppliers usually follow GS1 SGTIN-96 so the EPC and the barcode carry the same item number. Apply to a dry, flat area away from foil linings and metal clips. Paper takes up moisture, so keep opened rolls somewhere dry.
