What the UHF RFID desktop reader 103 does

The IDTS-103 is a small desktop UHF RFID reader-writer that connects to a computer and works without a driver or a separate power supply. Once it is connected, the PC can read and write UHF tags straight away, which makes it practical for counters where staff have no IT support at hand: library desks, billing counters, store-room issue points and asset registration desks.

Serial or HID output, configured for your software

The reader communicates over serial or HID, and the output format is configurable. In HID mode the tag number appears in whichever application has focus, just like keyboard input, so an existing billing or inventory screen can accept RFID without changes. Multi-tag reading and writing

The 103 supports ISO 18000-6C (EPC Gen2) as well as the older ISO 18000-6B protocol, and it can read and write several tags rather than strictly one at a time, which helps when a small bundle of labelled items is checked together. The reading radius is adjustable up to 30 cm: keep it short when encoding a single label, and open it up when verifying a handful of tagged items on the desk.
