Overview

What the CX110T UHF RFID smart tray does

The CX110T is a UHF RFID reader built into a square 260 × 260 × 35 mm aluminium die-cast tray. Items carrying UHF tags are placed on top and read together by the Impinj E310 reader chip at up to 250 tags per second, so a tray of jewellery, a set of tools or a pile of tagged files is counted in seconds instead of item by item.

The built-in antenna is a near-field design optimised for short range, so the tray reads what is on it and not the stock on the shelf behind. RF power is adjustable from 0 to 30 dBm to suit the counter.

Wired for fixed counters

The CX110T is meant to stay in one place and connect to your systems:

  • PoE: one network cable carries both power and data; a 9–24 V supply or USB 5 V also works.
  • USB and RS232: connect straight to a billing PC or workstation.
  • Wiegand 26: pass tag numbers to an access or attendance controller.
  • 3 relay outputs: can be wired to an indicator, alarm or lock.
  • 1,000-tag storage: on-board memory for tag data.

A red LED shows power, while a green LED and the buzzer confirm each read.

Where it is used

Typical jobs are quick checkout of high-value items at retail points of sale, fast audits of items at a desk, keeping track of documents or tools in an office, and real-time stock visibility on jewellery trays. For file rooms, see our RFID file tracking system. If you need a larger rectangular surface, compare the CX111T tray.

Frequently asked questions

Will the CX110T read RFID tags lying next to the tray?
Its built-in antenna is a near-field, short-range design meant to read only tags in the tray area, so nearby items are not picked up by mistake. RF power can also be lowered from its 30 dBm maximum to tighten the zone.
Can the CX110T run on a single network cable?
Yes. It supports PoE, so one Ethernet cable can carry both power and data. It can also be powered from a 9–24 V supply or from USB at 5 V.
What is the difference between the CX110T, CX110B, CX110TW and CX110E?
The CX110T has PoE, RS232, USB, 3 relays and 1,000-tag storage with an Impinj E310 chip (250 tags/s). The CX110B has Bluetooth and RJ45 with RS232, USB, 3 relays and 1,000-tag storage, the CX110TW adds Wi-Fi to the CX110T set-up, and the CX110E uses an Impinj E710 chip for up to 1,000 tags/s.
Which frequency does the CX110T use in India?
It is supplied for the Indian UHF band, 865–868 MHz, and reads ISO 18000-6C (EPC Gen2) tags. Other frequencies can be set on request for use outside India.
How do I integrate the tray with my software?
Connect it to a PC over USB or RS232, or to your network over PoE. It supports active and answer work modes, and Wiegand 26 output is available for access or attendance controllers.
