Overview
What the ID-RP-01 RFID password locker lock does
The ID-RP-01 gives a locker or cabinet door keyless access through an RFID reader and a password keypad. A user opens it by holding a card, wristband or key fob within 3 cm of the front panel, by entering a password, or by doing both, depending on how you program the lock. Once a credential is accepted the door releases by itself, so the locker does not need a handle.
Choosing a working mode
RFID only
Fastest at the locker: members tap a wristband or card and walk away. Suits gym changing rooms with steady footfall.
Password only
No credentials to issue or replace. Works for a team cabinet where a code is shared and changed when staff move on.
RFID + password
Needs both the card and the code, so a lost card alone does not open the door. Use it for documents or valuables.
Private and public use
Out of the box the lock is in private mode: it is paired with one user's card or wristband and that credential works only on that lock. This is the right set-up for office staff and gym members with an assigned locker.
Public mode is for short-stay use in pools, saunas and hotels, where any valid credential can lock any free locker. While a locker is occupied in public mode, a red LED flashes every five seconds so attendants can see which ones are taken.
Cards and wristbands to pair with it
The ID-RP-01 reads both 125 kHz and 13.56 MHz credentials, and the card types listed for it are ID, MIFARE and TIMIC. If your staff already carry attendance or door cards, check their frequency before ordering; our guide to LF, HF and MIFARE cards shows how. In wet changing rooms, silicone RFID wristbands are easier to keep on hand than cards.
Power and upkeep
Four AA alkaline batteries supply 6 V, and the lock is rated for more than a year on one set. When the voltage falls below 4.8 V the red LED lights as a warning, and the lock still opens more than 50 times, which gives your facility team time to change batteries. The lock can also be opened mechanically in an emergency. Compare it with the other models in RFID Locks.
