Overview
ID-4318-U9 UHF RFID jewellery label for daily counts and audits
The ID-4318-U9 is a 43 × 30 mm UHF RFID jewellery label built on the NXP UCODE 9 chip family, with UCODE 8, 9xe and 9xm variants also listed. One label per piece, each with a unique EPC, turns opening and closing stock counts from a piece-by-piece check into a reader sweep. The compact face still takes a printed SKU, weight and item details.
Where jewellers use it
- Opening and closing counts: trays and showcases checked against the expected list before the counters open and after they close.
- Stock audits: an item-level count for internal audits and insurance, without lifting each piece.
- Strong-room stock: trays and boxes moved into the safe at night are checked in and out.
Jewellers newly covered by hallmarking can read what the hallmarking expansion means for stock control.
Managing an 8 m read range
The label is rated for up to 8 m, more than a tray count needs. That headroom can help when reading a stack of trays or a closed drawer, but it can also pick up pieces in the next display. Most UHF handhelds and desktop readers let you lower transmit power, so set it low for tray-level counts and higher for walk-through audits. Compare other formats in RFID jewellery tags.
Typical applications
- Opening and closing counts
- Jewellery stock audits
- Strong-room checks
- Showroom display cases
- Jewellery wholesalers
