Overview

Anti-liquid UHF RFID label for bottles and liquid products

Water-based contents absorb UHF energy, which is why an ordinary paper RFID label often goes quiet on a filled bottle. The ID-7020-R6P is an anti-liquid UHF label made for retail products that contain liquid: shampoo and lotion bottles, edible-oil and ghee packs, beverages and similar items. It uses the R6P chip and reads at up to 7 m depending on antenna and environment.

Where to put the label

  • On the body of the container, not the cap
  • Flat, with no crease across the antenna
  • Away from foil sleeves and metallised film; on those packs, tag the outer carton instead

Testing before roll-out

Encode EPCs in bulk on a UHF RFID printer before application, using GS1 or your own numbering. Then check the first labels with a handheld on filled product, not empty packaging, because the read profile changes once the liquid is in. Placement tips for cosmetics, cans and foil packs are in our guide to RFID tags on liquids.

Typical applications

  • Cosmetics and personal care
  • Edible oil and ghee
  • Beverage bottles
  • Pharmacy syrups
  • FMCG distribution centres

Frequently asked questions

Does the ID-7020-R6P read on bottles and liquid-filled products?
Yes, that is what it is designed for. Read range is up to 7 m depending on the reader antenna and environment. Expect shorter distances on filled product than on dry cartons, so test on your actual packs.
Will it work on metal cans or foil-lined packs?
An anti-liquid label is not an on-metal tag. For metal cans or foil-lined packs, label the outer carton or use an on-metal RFID tag.
Which readers and printers can I use?
Any standard UHF RFID reader or printer that supports EPC Gen2 / ISO 18000-6C. The label responds across 860–960 MHz, which covers India’s licence-exempt 865–868 MHz band.
Can it be ordered printed and pre-encoded?
Yes. Custom printing and encoding can be requested for bulk orders. Add it to your quote list with your artwork and numbering scheme, or request samples for a bottle trial.
