Overview
How the UHF tamper-proof windshield label works
The label sticks to the inside of the windscreen with its self-adhesive tape. A UHF reader at the gate picks it up from over 8–10 m away, so the barrier can start opening before the vehicle stops. Because the label is tamper-proof, peeling it off damages it, so a tag issued to one car cannot be moved to another intact.
Issuing labels to vehicles
Every label carries a unique serial number and a matching barcode on the front. At the issue desk, scan the barcode to register the label against the vehicle number and owner in your parking or access software, then fit it on the glass. No manual typing is needed, which keeps errors out of the vehicle register.

Fitting and reader set-up
Clean and dry the glass, then fit the label high on the windscreen, usually behind the rear-view mirror. Some windscreens have metallised heat-reflective coatings that block UHF signals, so test one such vehicle before a full rollout. What is the read range of this windshield label?
It reads at over 8–10 m when fixed on the inside of a vehicle's windshield. Actual range depends on the reader's power, the antenna position at the lane and the type of glass; heat-reflective coated windscreens can reduce or block reads.
Can the label be moved to another vehicle?
No. It is a tamper-proof label fixed with self-adhesive tape, and removing it from the glass damages it, so a label issued to one vehicle cannot be transferred intact. This keeps one tag tied to one vehicle in your access records.
Is this the same as a FASTag?
No. FASTag is issued through banks for national highway toll payment. This label is for your own parking, campus or yard system: it uses the same UHF RFID technology, but the tag numbers are registered and managed in your software.
Which reader do I need at the gate?
Use a long-range UHF reader, typically an integrated reader with a built-in antenna on a pole facing incoming traffic, connected to your boom barrier controller or access software. The reader sends the tag number and your software decides whether to open the barrier.
