Overview
What the ALN-9662 Short wet inlay is
The ALN-9662 is Alien Technology's "Short" inlay, a variant of its general-purpose Squiggle design. It is World Tag compliant, meaning it is tuned to work across the UHF bands of the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Africa, including India's 865–868 MHz band. Here it is supplied as a wet inlay: the antenna sits on an adhesive-backed carrier, so you can stick it straight onto a carton or product, or laminate it under a printed face stock.
Higgs-3 memory and security
- Extensible EPC memory bank for longer identifiers
- 512 bits of user memory to carry data such as batch or lot details on the tag itself
- 32-bit TID and a 64-bit unique TID for serialisation and authentication
- Password-protected read and write, so tag data cannot be viewed or changed without authorisation
Where it fits
The compact inlay suits garment hang tags, swing tickets and card-sized tags in apparel retail, as well as carton labels in a warehouse. Read range is up to 6 m depending on the reader antenna and surroundings. Like other standard inlays, keep it off metal and liquid-filled packaging.
