Overview
An IP67 UHF RFID antenna for outdoor and wet locations
The IDTS-RA6133 is meant for reading points exposed to weather or dirt: a parking boom, a yard gate, a loading bay open to monsoon rain or a dusty factory yard. Its white PC+ABS housing is IP67 rated, meaning dust-tight and protected against temporary immersion, and the antenna is rated for -40 °C to +55 °C.
Inside, an F4B high-frequency board with a nickel-plated copper reflector gives 6 dBi gain across 860–960 MHz, a range that includes India's 865–868 MHz band.
Coverage: wide rather than long
With a 106° beam in both planes, one RA6133 covers a broad area in front of it, such as a single entry lane or a dock opening at moderate distance. Circular polarisation with a tight axial ratio of ≤2 dB keeps reads consistent when tags on vehicles, cartons or bins arrive at different angles.
Where the reading point must reach further down a lane, or must not pick up the lane next to it, a narrow-beam, high-gain antenna such as the IDTS-RA12550 traffic antenna is the better choice.
Mounting and cabling
- Pole mounting: fits poles of 40–50 mm diameter, a common size for barrier posts and light frames.
- Connector: a 10 cm RG178 lead at the back ends in an MMCX connector. That short lead suits a reader or reader module mounted right beside the antenna; if the reader sits further away, plan an MMCX adapter and a low-loss extension cable.
- Weight and depth: at 600 g and 52 mm deep it is a sturdier unit than indoor panels, so fix it firmly where passing vehicles or wind cause vibration.
What to order with it
The antenna needs a UHF fixed reader with an external antenna port, plus tags suited to what you are tracking: windscreen labels for cars, on-metal tags for containers and machinery. For dock doors and choke points, our gate and portal reader guide covers antenna placement, and you can compare gain and beam options across all RFID antennas.
Typical applications
- Parking entry lanes
- Warehouse dock doors
- Outdoor storage yards
- Supply chain checkpoints
- Harsh-environment asset tracking
